This 12-hour hands-on seminar, taught by Dr. Warren Hammer, will deal specifically with:

SOFT TISSUE METHODS FOR THE SPINE & EXTREMITIES

  1. Necessity of including soft tissue analysis and treatment with the chiropractic adjustment.
  2. Effects of manual loading on soft tissue.
  3. Theories behind soft tissue methods.
  4. Soft tissue techniques for acute problems.
    1. Strain Counterstrain
    2. Post isometric relaxation
    3. Myofascial release
  5. Soft tissue techniques for chronic problems.
    1. Post facilitation stretch
    2. Deep myofascial release
    3. Friction massage
    4. Graston Technique®
  6. Evaluation of spinal fascia & treatment using soft tissue methods.
  7. Evaluation of the shoulder
    1. Cyriax based evaluation
    2. Evaluation of the scapula
    3. Treatment of common conditions
      1. Impingement syndrome
      2. Adhesive capsulitis
      3. Shoulder rehabilitation
  8. Evaluation & treatment of common elbow & wrist conditions.
    1. Epicondylopathy/tendinosis
    2. Carpal tunnel
    3. Entrapments
  9. Evaluation & treatment of common hip conditions.
    1. Chronic trochanteric bursitis.
    2. Restrictive tissue problems: external hip rotators, ITB syndrome, quadriceps, adductors, hamstrings.
  10. Evaluation & treatment of soft tissue problems of the knee, leg & foot.
    1. Patellofemoral, coronary ligament, patella tendinosis.
    2. Shin splints, chronic ankle sprain, Achilles tendinosis, plantar fascitis.
