Erika Mennerick, DC
Erika Mennerick, DC, Cert. MDT graduated from the National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in April of 2005 after having completed her 2001 Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN and her 2003 Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from NUHS. After opening her private practice in rural Elburn, IL in 2005, Dr. Mennerick has continued to utilize hands-on chiropractic adjustments, functional movement assessments, nutritional counseling, and lab testing as the foundation for her patient’s care. Dr. Mennerick served as part-time faculty at the National University of Health Sciences 2007 – 2014 teaching a variety of courses including pediatrics, pregnancy care, male and female health, adjusting technique, emergency care, and chiropractic listings. She is a certified Motion Palpation Technique provider as well as a certified Webster Technique provider for pregnancy.
After extensive continuing education and exam, she obtained her 2013 certification in the McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT), recognized around the world as “an active patient treatment philosophy that emphasizes prevention and intervention, and encourages patients to be in control of their own treatment.” Dr. Mennerick is an instructor for the Motion Palpation Institute where she leads seminars on adjusting technique, biomechanics, and functional assessment. She supports the American Chiropractic Association and the Illinois Chiropractic Society as a member.
In her free time, Dr. Mennerick can be found enjoying the woods of local Illinois and Wisconsin forest preserves on her mountain bike, cross country skis, kayak, or running shoes. Dr. Mennerick, Tom, and their two young children enjoy cycling together and exploring new places. To balance out a busy life, Dr. Mennerick chooses yoga and reading to decompress. She draws on her personal experience to help her patients create balance in their own busy lives.
