This course will focus on immunonutrition in the context of COVID. Immune cells and musculoskeletal cells (fibroblasts, chrondrocytes, tenocytes, and myocytes) all require the same nutrients to function properly. The overconsumption of refined sugar, flour, and oils, and the associated lack of key vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids lead to an increased release of inflammatory mediators. This means that the same basic diet and supplement recommendations can be used to improve both immune and musculoskeletal health.
Discuss how sugar, flour, and refined oils activate the immune cells and musculoskeletal cells to create inflammation
Discuss why supplements alone cannot adequately support anti-inflammatory immune and musculoskeletal health
Explain how diet and supplements can support both immune and musculoskeletal health
Casual and comfortable.
